Senior Manager
This role will consist of oversight and decision responsibility for members of the team. This position is a single point of accountability for a specific client program. The manager is responsible for decisions concerning operational strategies and tactics as well as decisions concerning investments in the program requested by the client or the management team. The manager’s role is vital in building relationships with the client and requires engagement at an executive level. The manager is responsible for managing the critical scope of the role; overall revenue and gross margin goals of programs, responsible for day-to-day engagement with and management of our partner in Japan to ensure operational delivery achieves the required contractual outcomes. The manager is also the dedicated key contact for existing and new opportunities for the client account in Japan.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Corporate or leisure travel industry experience (required)
- Knowledge in international booking or GDS (Amadeus (pref), Sabre, Worldspan, Apollo or another industry-recognized platform) (required)
- Responsible for Balanced Scorecard (CVA, PVA, SVA, and EVA/EBIT) associated with the programs
- Maintain and grow the account revenue and profitability of existing programs, including revenue, margins, billing performance, seat utilization, and program turnover
- Collaborating with internal suppliers
- Collaborating with partner in Japan, to ensure delivery on their contractual requirements
- Negotiating and managing client commitments and working closely with account management on contractual obligations
- Collaborating with Business Development and Account Management to grow the business through organic and new opportunities
- Conduct account reviews, both internal and external
- Responsible for coordinating and delivering quarterly and annual reviews between all stakeholders
- Staff, motivate and develop a management team (includes dotted line partners)
- Translate company strategies into organizational initiatives/activities
- Develop and maintain relevant industry knowledge
- Responsible for selecting, training, developing, and managing performance of direct reports in the area of specialty; and mentoring, coordinating, planning, and providing direction for work group(s) in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable legal requirements
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Must have proficiency with various software application programs, including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- Incumbents must possess a willingness to take ownership of account(s) and have a strong desire to be involved in anything that affects business
- Strong ability to guide individuals toward goal achievement using negotiation, teamwork/collaboration, motivation, and staff development skills including the ability to act as a role model within the organization
- Excellent ability to demonstrate innovation and good judgment/problem solving skills when making decisions
